The Day

 

Our summer club is an immersive journey into a secluded and magical woodland. We use a combination of structured and unstructured time to channel creativity, and carry out practical problem solving tasks together as a team and individuals.

​A mixed age group usually encourages care, and peer to peer learning.

 

Our schedule will be laid out as follows:

 

Morning

 

Orientation - checking in to our woodland setting and playing simple games to warm up, connect to the environment and get to know each other.

 

A Focused Activity - carrying out a craft or practical challenge and learning particular skills such as knot tying and lashing, woodland carpentry, survival skills including basic bushcraft, making fire, using tools such as bow saws and whittling knives. 

 

Checking in and reviewing our progress before breaking for lunch around noon.

 

Afternoon

 

Free unstructured time - we will facilitate: storytelling, exploring the woods, group games, team activities and more.

 

Mastery - there will be time also in the afternoon to continue working on any projects or activities from the morning.

 

Review and Reflect - We will come together as a group at the end to look at results of the day, share feedback and give gratitude. We will then check in with everyone, before heading back to the wood’s entrance and home.
